TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP:

INDIVIDUAL MEMBER INSTITUTIONS AND COMPANIES "LIGHT" INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP FOR SCIENTIFIC AND/OR NON-PROFIT "FULL" MEMBERSHIP FOR SCIENTIFIC AND/OR NON-PROFIT SOCIETIES/ASSOCIATIONS

STUDENT MEMBERS: this category includes until the age of 27 who are regularly enrolled in a degree program. The applicant is requested to provide a certificate attesting the status of student. Once the status of student has ceased or at the age of 27, the members will automatically switch to the junior category.

PhD STUDENT MEMBERS: this category includes all those enrolled in a PhD course when applying for or renewing membership, providing a certificate attesting to their status of PhD Students.

JUNIOR MEMBERS: this category includes students and graduates under 30 years of age. At the age of 30, members will automatically switch to the ordinary category.

ORDINARY MEMBERS: this category includes those who are between 30 and 70 years of age.

SENIORE MEMBERS: this category includes ordinary members who are over 70 years of age. To belong to this category it is necessary, when applying for or renewing the membership, to send a copy of a valid identity document.

INSTITUTIONS AND COMPANIES: this category includes education and territorial management institutions and companies. The institutions that intend to renew membership can choose whether to apply for one or more accounts for the downloading of publications in electronic format. The amount due will be proportional to the number of accounts requested (see table).

The BASIC fee guarantees the registration to the Society and all the benefits provided for the members, which are i) the access to the magazine Geologicamente (GM); ii) the access to the Rendiconti Online della Società Geologica Italiana (ROL), iii) the discounted registration fees to all the social activities (congresses, meetings of the Sections, summer schools, workshops, etc.), iv) the purchase of all the special publications of the SGI (books, geological guides, etc.) including the equipments used for the field activity branded with the logo of the Society, at special rates dedicated to the members, v) the access to the overall past scientific publications (e.g., papers, maps) of the Society since 1881.

The SILVER fee also guarantees the access to the electronic format of the Italian Journal of Geosciences (IJG).

The GOLD and PLATINUM fees also include the possibility to receive the hardcopy of the Italian Journal of Geosciences, and all thematic attachments in paper form (geological maps, tables, etc.).

The GOLD members will also receive a copy of the second volume of the volume Mente et Malleo. La Società Geologica Italiana e i suoi Presidenti.

Supporting members, PLATINUM, will also receive a copy of the volume Virtual outcrop models of geological structures.

Members who wish to receive further copies of the volumes Mente et Malleo. La Società Geologica Italiana e i suoi Presidenti and/or Virtual outcrop models of geological structures can obtain it by paying an additional contribution of € 15.00 for each copy.

Members of the categories Students and PhD students who join the SGI will get the right of access to the higher type of membership fee paid (e.g. BASIC fee -> SILVER access).
